Called to One Hope in Christ
Lyon, France, 15-21 July 2009

“Hope, we do have hope!” We heard this phrase over and over again at the end of the Assembly. In Lyon, France, the 13th CEC Assembly came to an end on the 21st of July 2009 and the participants left taking home with them the excitement and hope-filled spirit and atmosphere they experienced at the Assembly.

The book is accompanied with the DVD "A pictorial History of CEC", by Robin Gurney, containing historical pictures from the early period of CEC to the present.

Contact the Communications Office if you wish to aquire one or more copies.

"Hope - European voices crossing borders" is a 50 minute film produced by the Danish Church Media Centre in preparation for the Lyon Assembly. Cathedrals in Lyon

The 13th CEC Assembly will be held in one of Lyon’s most modern facilities, the Cité Internationale. Located between the river Rhone and the beautiful Parc de la Tete d’Or, this is a 21st century centre offering a whole range of conference facilities, within easy reach of the city centre...

Did you know...Did you know...

…the assembly theme, “Called to the One Hope”, is based on a letter that Saint Paul wrote from a prison cell? This great text on Christian unity is found in Ephesians 4:1-6

...that dental care expenses will soar throughout Europe after this Assembly as the Church of Sweden kindly supplied 18kg of sweets for their stand in the agora space...

... and for our last item in this section here's a little inspiration on vision:

"Before you begin a thing, remind yourself that difficulties and delays quite impossible to foresee are ahead. If you could see them clearly, naturally you could do a great deal to get rid of them but you can't. You can only see one thing clearly and that is your goal. Form a mental vision of that and cling to it through thick and thin."

Our team has enjoyed putting up these little bits of information for all of us each day and we hope they have been informative and amusing. As you leave Lyon please go with all our best wishes and thank you for your hard work.
